Happy Lunar New Year!

SFCAUSE wishes all a Happy Lunar New Year in the lucky year of the Rabbit!  SFCAUSE is a Bay Area non-profit promoting community alliance, safety, and education. The Rabbit symbolizes peace and prosperity – two cornerstone themes promoted by SFCAUSE. Active in the community, SFCAUSE has distributed over 150,000 Safety Tip Cards printed in multiple (nine)languages* to assist monolingual speakers report crime.  SFCAUSE is supporting an initiative to install 140 security cameras at SF intersections throughout Visitation Valley to prevent crime and supporting the national Yellow Whistle Campaign by distributing safety whistles to elderly and vulnerable community members.   

The SFCAUSE float “We All Belong” demonstrates that whether people walked, sailed, or flew to America (as depicted by the float’s rabbits) they were guided by the promise of prosperity and good fortune.  The float includes the Golden Gate Bridge (gateway to prosperity), the Statue of Liberty (international symbol of hope), gold coins (symbolizing fortune), stars (guiding lights to freedom), the moon (symbolizing the Rabbit), as well as clever Rabbits living in freedom. 

The Float is accompanied by Native American tribal leaders, BIPOC, LGBT+, and Jewish community members walking and dancing with Latin dancers (SF Carnivale) to the song, “We All Belong” by Joel Wong.
